Learn how to save lives with CPR training. This free, online CPR training from the Disque Foundation's Medical Educator, Lauren Diffendarfer, is meant to train you in CPR, AED and First Aid basics. You will be trained on how to provide adult, child, and infant CPR, as well as the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).Each topic is broken down into critical decisions to make and steps to take. This webinar will give you the confidence you need in situations that range from minor to crisis. This webinar is the first step to completing the CPR, AED and First Aid certification courses provided by National Health Care Provider Solutions (www.nhcps.com).

About the Presenter:

Lauren works as the Medical Educator for the Disque Foundation and has worked closely with us since 2014. She is a full-time student pursuing a BS in Biology at Indiana University as a recipient of the Chick Evans Caddy Scholarship and hopes to attend medical school to become a physician in the future. She is certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and she is also a certified Basic Life Support Instructor for the American Heart Association. She stays heavily involved with health care in and out of her local community, helping plan and coordinate Disque Foundation events, teaching lifesaving skills to the communities and organizations that we serve and volunteering at her hometown hospital in the Birthing Unit.

Our 2016 Foundation trip to the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans was planned by Lauren, and was able to train locals in CPR and AED over the course of two days at New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC). For this trip Lauren decided to stay within the U.S and take along the Empowerment Team of the foundation in an effort to extend the foundation’s mission even further. She is working to plan future trips for the foundation

Lauren traveled also to the Dominican Republic with Gap Medics Organization, a specialist company providing hospital work experience placements abroad to pre-med students around the world.  Additionally, Lauren is involved with the Indiana University Dance Marathon, which is a year-long fundraising process for the Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis which ultimately results in a 36-hour dance marathon that raises millions for the kids at Riley. She has actively lived out the foundation’s mission of empowerment through social good.
