Teaching: Introduction to Cross Sector Leadership: Building Teams
Alison Gold is passionate about reorienting the culture of social changemakers and funders toward bigger aspirations and bolder impact. She’s particularly interested in how strategies like systems change, The Lean Startup, emergent learning, and “open sourcing social change” can be used by cross-sector partnerships to address “wicked” problems. At the Presidio Institute, Alison is responsible for developing the strategies and programs focused on providing transformational experiences that inspire, encourage, and empower leaders to make measurable, positive impact in their communities through cross-sector collaboration.
Prior to joining the team at the Presidio Institute, Alison served as the Assistant Director of Knowledge and Impact at Living Cities from 2011-2014. She developed the organization’s portfolios on knowledge and cross-sector partnerships, and published What Barriers? Insights from Solving Problems through Cross-Sector Partnerships, associated case studies, and tools to help members of cross-sector partnerships assess if they are set up “right” to achieve their goals.
Alison has a degree in anthropology from Columbia University and business and nonprofit management certificates from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where she was a UPS Foundation Fellow.
