Join us for Introduction to Cross Sector Leadership: Building Teams, a 6-week Leaderosity course offered by Presidio Institute. Through this course you’ll focus on the work of building teams by learning the skills of developing trust, managing power dynamics & conflict, and fostering an innovation culture in cross sector collaborations. Throughout this online course, you’ll be introduced to concepts through short video lectures, readings, podcasts and discussions. But, the bulk of your learning will come by applying cross sector leadership skills in individual, team assignments, and a live case-study. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Participants will walk away from the course with…
- An increased awareness of the concept of cross-sector leadership so that they can identify when the practice should be applied.
- An overview of the Presidio Institute’s 9 universal skills of cross-sector leadership
- A deeper understanding of the 3 skills focused on Building Teams so that they can begin to practice the skills and identify opportunities for further learning and development. These skills include:
- Developing Trust
- Managing Power Dynamics & Conflict
- Fostering an Innovation Culture
HOW THIS COURSE WORKS
Course instructors will be available to answer questions and provide feedback/comments on individual and group assignments. The course is offered through Leaderosity’s third party learning platform called NovoEd. Course content will consist of lecture videos, readings and interactive exercises. It will be available for you to access at any point. The course occurs entirely online and you will set meeting times to meet with your course team.
This course is designed to be completed with a team. You should expect to do approximately 60-90 minutes of individual prep work per week and then work with your team. You will be expected to complete all the assignments and participate in the class-wide discussion board.
You need a computer or smart device that allows you to watch videos, video chat (optional), and the ability to upload your assignments which will be PowerPoint/image/video presentations.
STATEMENT OF ACCOMPLISHMENT
Subject to course completion (completion of all assignments), you will receive a statement of accomplishment signed by the Presidio Institute.

Presidio Institute Faculty
Renee Baiorunos is Vice President at LeaderFit, an executive search and human capital advisory firm focused on helping mission-driven organizations hire and develop the best and brightest leadership talent. Renee advises boards and executive teams of nonprofits, foundations, and social enterprises in all aspects of human capital strategy, including talent acquisition, leadership development, and succession planning. She is also responsible for developing new programs designed to attract and support exceptional leadership talent for the sector.
Prior to joining LeaderFit, Renee spent 6 years at Community Wealth Partners, a social sector consulting firm, overseeing client engagements with a core focus on strategy design and implementation and collaboration. Clients included organizations such as KaBOOM!, Aligning Forces for Quality (a Robert Wood Johnson Initiative), Share Our Strength, Higher Achievement, Miriam's Kitchen and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
Earlier in her career, Renee consulted with Fortune 500 companies on governance issues prioritized by executive boards and activist shareholders to advance governance practices and was with Edelman Public Relations' Corporate Social Responsibility practice where she focused on building public-private partnerships for clients and developing thought leadership for the practice.
Renee currently serves on the board of Miriam's Kitchen and is a 2015 Presidio Institute Cross Sector Leaders Fellow. She has an MBA from Georgetown University and a BA with honors from the University of Florida.
